Burning Man 2011

Yikes, it’s almost halfway October, I almost forgot about Burning Man!
Not to mention I haven’t blogged at all for over 2 months! :o

(any) Life has been rather busy lately, but now that summer is no longer around (we had a pretty awesome transition from September to October over here) I better pick up where I left off.
So, back to Burning Man!

For those who are regulars to this event (and I’m bold enough to count myself amongst those) this event was undoubtedly the smallest edition yet. Last year I already commented on the downsized grounds. This year, with a mere 4 sims, 1 of which being the usual “welcome road”, I managed to visit the entire event in just 1 morning…
In all fairness:  it hasn’t lost its spark, but I feared it might have at first. Luckily the level of creativity is still being held high by some regular creative minds and the occasional interesting new name.

I’m not entirely sure how much longer it’ll be around, but it’s already been there for a week so I doubt it’ll be there much longer.
As usual, you’ll find a selection of my personal 5 favourite installations below.
As for now: catch ya soon, and grab a taxi to the Burning Man grounds!

It’s back! Mikati Slade, who’s behind various creations from 8-bit land, presents us a dance floor that oozes with cuteness!

The Hot Stilt Bitches

From a circus to an Oriental theatre! Complete with entry lane, banners and surrounding “cubic hills”.

Party AtmoSphere

The only party I (briefly) attended during this year’s edition was inside this ginormous cage-like sphere. It’s effects may have been a twist on a set of classic SL®-club lasers and alike, but I still digged it! And the Eye was crazy!

The Sacrifice

This was one of the teasers I saw about Burning Man, and it proved to be an exceptionally well-made piece in-world! Even offers 2 framed pictures of it to put up in your studio!

Burning Man Temple

Ok, not an installation, but I digged the way they updated the Temple enough to post it here.
