Bye bye Flickr PRO!

After 2 years, I’ve decided to not renew my PRO status on Flickr. When I first started with it, I used Flickr several times a week, uploading pictures and snapshots from SL®, gradually learning little tricks with PS, upload more snapshots, etc…
Good times…

But then the time for work came along, and SL® and it’s snapshots were pushed back dramatically. I tried to keep my account alive by uploading RL pictures on it too, but that didn’t really help all that much if you ask me, even tho the pictures aren’t exactly awful to behold.

So, when yesterday I received the message that my Flickr account lost it’s PRO status the next day (today) it took me about 5 minutes of thinking if it was worth keeping it as a PRO, or returning to a basic free membership. All in all, while $ 24,95 may not be much for a full year of image and video hosting, it remains kind of a waste with how little I use of it.

Anyhoo, I won’t delete the account altogether, but might sift out the ones not getting any traffic at all anymore. If at anytime you wish to see an older picture, try searching under ganymedes1985, all pics (should, if I recall correctly) have that as a tag.
Here’s a little highlight of the Viewers Favourites, and my own Personal Favourites:

  1. Cool you are sharing those favs, yours and other’s ones. About having a “normal” account, don’t worry, if you have old pics embedded in one blog post or wherever in the Internet it will remain there.

The only limitation you will have is that only your 200 last pictures will be visible in your Flickr page… well, that and some advertisement. ;-)
