My dad and stepmom purchased a new digital camera a couple weeks ago, and when I went to the seaside last weekend (an annual escape, always mid-August) they gave me their old one, since they knew I had experienced some trouble with mine on the trip to Barcelona I took in June.

The “trouble” is quite annoying imho: if you take a closer look to the pictures I took on Day 3 of my trip to Barcelona, you’ll see that parts that are brightly lit by sunlight show… pink! Now, I like pink (duh, I’m a poof) but not on that type of pictures.

I must admit, my camera, a Canon PowerShot A300 is almost 5 years old, and with “just” 3.2 MegaPixels at the time was awesome, but isn’t really spectacular to current standards (I’m ignoring the fact the PowerShot A300 only has digital zoom, not optical).
Anyway, the “old one” my dad and stepmom had, and thus: my new one, is a Sony CyberShot with 5.1 MegaPixels, 3x optical zoom + an extended 3x digital zoom!
I know new ones are even more high-res, but I’m not complaining > I’m still trading up, without having to pay anything!
YAY!

Of course, I had to play with it right away, and here’s an example, and a link to some pictures I took at Westende (the Belgian seaside village I’ve been spending many summer weeks or weekends at for the last 8 or 9 years)!
